The Omalos Plateau, located 38 kilometers south of Chania at an altitude of 1,040–1,250 meters, is a natural oasis surrounded by the tall and imposing peaks of the White Mountains. The landscape stands out for its wild beauty, with alpine-like meadows, springs, and small streams creating a magical natural environment.
In winter, when the plateau is covered in snow, the area becomes even more spectacular, offering unique experiences for walkers and nature enthusiasts. Throughout the year, both Greek and international visitors are drawn by its tranquility, clean air, and stunning views, making Omalos a starting point for hikes to the gorges and peaks of the White Mountains.
