Arkadi Monastery is located near the village of Amnatos, 23 kilometers east of Rethymno, at the borders of the Mylopotamos, Rethymno, and Amari regions. Built at an altitude of 500 meters, it dominates a fertile plateau with olive groves, vineyards, pine and cypress trees, and plum orchards, offering a magical natural environment.
Around the monastery, there are many picturesque chapels that enhance the religious and historical significance of the site. Next to the monastery begins the beautiful Arkadi Gorge, offering visitors the opportunity for hiking through a stunning natural landscape and a unique experience connecting with the history and nature of Crete.
